Job Description
General Manager | We are recruiting for a General Manager to oversee the running of the brand new production facility
Salary
Salary - TBC
Role Duties:
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Align production plans with business forecasts, budgets, and market demands.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Lead, mentor, and manage manufacturing teams, including supervisors, engineers, and production staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Analyse financial reports and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and certifications.
- Oversee quality control processes and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular audits.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Stay updated on manufacturing technologies and methodologies to maintain competitiveness.
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage raw materials and inventory levels.
- Ensure timely delivery of finished products to meet customer demands.
- Communicate manufacturing performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.
- Act as a liaison between production teams and other departments such as sales, R&D, and logistics.
- Address and resolve production issues, equipment failures, or other operational disruptions promptly.
- Develop contingency plans to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Promote environmentally sustainable practices within manufacturing processes.
- Lead efforts to reduce energy consumption, emissions, and waste.
Experience:
- Experience working within a commercial vehicle industry would be preferred.
- Previous management experience is essential.
- Welding and fabrication knowledge is essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
Additional pay:
- Bonus scheme
