“It’s rough, tough and very very hard.” That’s why Brocklebank’s new ’66’ tippers are once again Loadmasters

As one of Yorkshire’s leading recycling businesses, Sheffield – based Brocklebank & Co Demolition Ltd knows pretty much all there is to know about operating tippers in some of the most onerous and ‘heavy duty’ applications out there.

There’s little surprise then that for most of the last two decades the company’s preferred tipper body has remained the Thompsons Loadmaster, with another six examples having just gone on the road.

“Loadmaster is just incredibly strong” says company owner Nick Brocklebank. “The work we put them on is generally rough, tough and very very hard, with our tippers having to carry everything from concrete and demolition rubble to soil and muck, and often doing at least eight loads a day. The body floors can take a real hammering when being loaded, then have to withstand enormous levels of abrasion when the loads are tipped out.

But the fact is that whatever the job, our Loadmasters always come out on top. They take everything in their stride. It’s just an incredible product.”

Brocklebank’s new Loadmasters are the single – skinned ‘Lite’ version, built fully in Hardox 450 premium grade steel. Mounted on the latest 8×4 Scania 410hp chassis, their payload is still comfortably over 19 tonnes.

“In our business, only premium trucks will do” continues Nick. “Reliability is the Number 1 issue. Our drivers also need to have full confidence in their vehicles, because that way they will use them responsibly and professionally. Matched with either of the two makes of Swedish truck chassis, Loadmaster gives us the optimum tipper formula.”

Built in Blackburn, Brocklebank’s latest Loadmasters also benefit from Thompsons recent £500,000 investment in shotblasting and paint at the company’s latest Site 3 on Shadsworth Business Park. Finished quality is now higher than ever, further extending Thompsons’ lead as the UK’s premier tipper body producer.

Thompsons director Simon Shields notes

“Brocklebank is one of those operators that puts our products to their highest test. The fact that Loadmaster has remained their tipper body of choice for almost two decades speaks volumes about Loadmaster’s exceptional performance and durability. It’s interesting too that Yorkshire has now become a key market for Thompsons where Loadmasters are now hugely popular everywhere.

We obviously extend a warm thanks to Nick Brocklebank and his team for their continuing business and confidence in our products.”
